Thomas K. DavidThomas (Tom) is a native of the Washington Metropolitan Area and founded the firm in 1995 after serving for several years as in-house counsel to Honeywells Information Systems Division. Toms practice is dedicated to addressing a wide spectrum of business issues that information technology companies encounter. Toms national speaking engagements that address complex government contracting issues have also earned him substantial respect and recognition from his peers. His client base includes several Fortune 500 companies as well as numerous established and emerging businesses. Toms breadth of experience allows him to identify potential business risks before they impact an otherwise successful operation. His practice focuses on all aspects of government procurement law, business law, and disputes resolution. Kenneth D. BrodyKen has over twenty years of experience in the area of government contracts law, litigation, and the representation of high technology contractors on intellectual property and employment law issues. He is a graduate of the Georgetown Law Center and is licensed to practice law in Virginia, Maryland, the District of Columbia, and New York. Ken's practice includes advising large and small national and local companies doing business in the federal, state and commercial arena on all aspects of procurement law including issues relating to contract award, performance, and termination. Ken began practicing law with the Department of the Navy and became a trial attorney before he left the government in 1988 for private practice. He is a frequent lecturer at training events for government contracting personnel and has written extensively on topics in the procurement field including pieces on procurement reform and litigation under the False Claims Act. Ken is also active in the Reston Chamber of Commerce where he chairs the Government Contracting Committee and works to promote teaming partnerships between large and small companies doing business with the government. Scott A. DondershineScott is licensed to practice law in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. He is also a Certified Public Accountant and began his career in public accounting for a big five CPA firm. Scott's accounting background enables him to grasp tax and financial issues that are important in structuring transactions, ensuring that business as well as legal goals are met and that tax-reduction strategies are maximized and not overlooked. Scott has published several articles covering a variety of business, tax and estate planning issues, in addition to speaking on a variety of topics. His client base includes start-up and emerging technology companies, non-profit companies and individuals. Scott concentrates his practice in the areas of business, tax and estate planning law. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce. Andrew F. ReishAndrew Reish (Drew) is a patent attorney registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and is licensed to practice law in Virginia, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia. Drew is an engineer with law degrees from both Duke University School of Law and the University of London (U.K.). Drews domestic and international practice is dedicated to addressing intellectual property (patents, trademarks, copyrights and proprietary information/trade secrets) issues encountered by emerging businesses, particularly information technology companies, as well as established industries. By virtue of the breadth of experience, he has lectured extensively on intellectual property law subjects to patent attorneys, agents and contracting officers both in the United States and abroad. Drew is also a Colonel Judge Advocate in the Air Force Reserves specializing in Information Assurance. He also has an extensive legal practice in the areas of the Freedom of Information Act, Privacy Act, and national security law, and he has a current Top Secret Clearance (SCI). James C. FontanaJames C. Fontana has more than 18 years of experience as an attorney specializing in government and commercial contracts. He also specializes in employment and labor matters both in the U.S. and abroad. Mr. Fontana has also represented a number of companies in connection with mergers and acquisitions, with a particular emphasis on transactions that are unique to government contractors. Mr. Fontana is formerly Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and Law, of Getronics Government Solutions, LLC (formerly Wang Global). As General Counsel, Mr. Fontana was responsible for all legal matters affecting the company and its subsidiaries. He also served as secretary to the company’s board of directors. Prior to Getronics, Mr. Fontana served as General Counsel of Vinnell Corporation and Senior Corporate Counsel to BDM International, Inc., Vinnell's parent company. Mr. Fontana is also formerly with the law firm of Reed Smith Shaw & McClay and a founding member of that firm's Government Contracts and Export Compliance Group, as well as an active member of the Technology Law Group. Mr. Fontana is a frequent seminar speaker and author on issues relating to government contracts, international law and technology-related issues. He has been a regular contributor to Washington Technology's Infotech and the Law column, and has published articles in numerous other publications, including the American Bar Association's Public Contract Law Journal, the National Contract Management Journal and Federal Publications. |
